Kyaing Ton

Kyaington, the Golden Triangle City, is situated in the eastern part of the Shan State. Picturesque with many ethnic groups, such as Wa, Shan, Akha, and Lahu living together, the main attraction is the warm hospitality offered by the natives. Built around a small lake, it's also know for its scenic beauty. It is accessible by flight from Yangon or by car on a very rough road (160 km) from Tachileik. Places of interest in Kyaington include Maha Myat Muni Pagoda, Naung-Tone Lake, Hot-Spring and One Three Pagoda. Visitors are allowed to cross into this border town with Border Passes.
